- I am a physicist, teacher and independent researcher. I hold a master’s degree in theoretical physics and a doctorate in medical radiation physics. My earlier research ranged from medical imaging and Monte Carlo simulation to single-cell analysis and mathematical modelling in molecular biology. Today, my main interests lie in the foundations and philosophy of physics. A central theme of my work is Observer Equivariance: the idea that objective physical content is what can be consistently translated between different perspectives. This blog explores quantum theory, relativity, symmetry, mathematics, consciousness and the nature of scientific objectivity. I also write about music, art and intellectual history.
